Hi there!

We are actively looking to add a Project Accountant to our expanding team in our Roseville, CA office!

We’re a well-established construction firm (general contractor) and due to growth in our company we need to add to our staff to keep up with all of our new upcoming projects!

Our Project Accountant is a key player in bridging the gap between field operations, project management teams, and the finance department and ensures efficient financial management of multiple construction projects. Through effective communication and collaboration this role contributes significantly to the timely and budget-compliant delivery of our construction projects!

*Please note that we are currently only considering candidates who have previous experience working for a general contractor.*

  • This is a direct hire role (no contract period)

  • The compensation for the role is 80-95k DOE

  • We are currently working an in-office schedule in our Roseville, CA office

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the timely receipt of subcontractor pay applications

  • Review and process subcontractor pay applications

  • Track monthly lien waivers

  • Prepare monthly owner pay applications for Project Manager review

  • Finalize and compile owner pay application packages

  • Review, collect, and organize backup documentation for owner pay applications

  • Conduct monthly reviews of project job costs to identify discrepancies

  • Support accounts receivable aging processes

  • Assist with project audits

  • Help collect and track supplier and subcontractor lien releases

  • Manage documentation related to prevailing wage compliance

Qualifications

  • Must have experience working for a general contractor

  • Detail-oriented team player with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment and meet critical deadlines

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent listening abilities

  • Minimum 2 years of accounting experience in the construction industry

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications; experience with Bluebeam, Sage 100, and Procore preferred

  • Solid understanding of California lien laws and preliminary notice requirements

  • Comfortable collaborating with all levels of project staff and stakeholders
