LHH is seeking an Export Coordinator to join an incredible company in Roswell, GA. The Export Coordinator will manage all transportation and logistics aspects of our international orders, from our US plants to overseas customers. The candidate will also be responsible for managing both domestic and international shipments, including tracking, invoicing, and ensuring compliance with trade regulations.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Complete the export shipment process, including drayage arrangement, booking, document preparation, tracking and tracing for international shipments.
Book US export orders annually with ocean carriers via EDI or email, ensuring timely and accurate order entries.
Input booking details into the ERP system and keep it updated with numerous changes, ensuring all international shipping orders are accurately processed.
Complete SEDs (Shipper’s Export Declarations) and Bill of Lading (BL) instructions in a timely manner to ensure compliance.
Collaborate with the credit team, bank, and customer service to create bank drafts and BL consignment for Letters of Credit (LCs).
Compile all required shipment documents (Commercial Invoice, Packing List, Ocean Bill of Lading) and send them to overseas customers as part of the shipping process.
Work closely with Customer Service, Logistics, Shipping, and Production teams to manage load schedule changes, including handling rolled bookings and rescheduling.
Audit ocean freight invoices before submitting them to the Accounts Payable group for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contracted rates.
Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and customer profiles, including key contacts, special requirements, and preferred routings, services, and carriers.
On a monthly basis, maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to track carrier performance and internal order accuracy, ensuring continuous improvement.
Resolve freight discrepancies, accounts payable issues, and operational challenges, minimizing costs and resources for both domestic and international shipments.
Research and resolve purchasing invoice discrepancies related to the purchase order process in the ERP system, including international transactions and customs-related issues.
Act as the first line of defense for operational issues, such as pickup/delivery problems, carrier no-shows, detention, and customs delays.
Ensure compliance with international regulations, including customs documentation, trade compliance, and appropriate Incoterms.
Ensure timely customs clearance and manage international shipping documentation, minimizing delays and optimizing global transportation efficiency.
Provide support for pricing and logistical requirements for Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and various teams.
Skills and Attributes Requirements:
Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of export experience with a freight forwarder, large manufacturer, or logistics company.
Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and global shipping routes
Extensive knowledge of transportation logistics, including both domestic and international shipping, ocean freight, and customs procedures.
Experience working with ocean carriers and understanding of carrier operations, including booking, scheduling, and drayage.
Pay Details: $24.00 to $26.00 per hour
