Job Type: Long-term Contract (Hybrid)
Job Overview: LHH is seeking an experienced Logistics Specialist to join their client's dynamic team at a leading manufacturing company in Roswell, GA. This role involves managing freight invoices, ensuring cost-effective transportation, and assisting with rate updates and customer charges. The Logistics Specialist will collaborate closely with the Data Integrity Coordinator, Customer Service, Sales, and Procurement teams to minimize costs and streamline logistics operations. Additionally, this role serves as backup support for the Data Integrity Coordinator, particularly in truck and rail logistics.
Key Responsibilities:
Resolve freight discrepancies and accounts payable invoice issues through plant coordination, online research, and A/P interaction.
Collaborate with the Logistics Manager and Finance department on all RBNI (received but not invoiced) transactions.
Address operational issues such as delivery problems, carrier no-shows, driver detention, and corrected BOLs to minimize costs.
Analyze freight data to optimize carrier and equipment utilization.
Serve as backup for the Data Integrity Coordinator in managing freight rate and customer charge changes, ensuring all carriers comply with company requirements (safety, financial, regulatory, and service standards).
Provide pricing support for Customer Service, Sales, Marketing, and NPD.
Assist with SAP training as part of the transition to the new system.
Skills & Attributes:
Strong knowledge of transportation, including truck, rail, and ocean logistics.
Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Analytical, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
Proficient in data analysis software, including spreadsheets and ERP systems.
Experience with transportation tendering and scheduling systems.
Strong problem-solving and project management skills.
Ability to work well independently and in teams.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of experience in logistics or a related field, or a recent graduate with relevant experience.
Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
Proficiency in SAP (training will be provided if not familiar) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
Experience in logistics, particularly in the supply chain or transportation industry (mining or construction preferred).
Critical thinking, strong work ethic, independence, positive attitude, and career progression ambition.
Position Details:
Contract Type: Long-term contract (+ year).
Location: Hybrid (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
Working Hours: 40 hours per week.
Onboarding: Business casual dress code; parking available onsite.
