LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a General Ledger Accountant for a contract opportunity ijn Sacramento, CA. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of financial reporting by ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger. Ideally you have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and a passion for delivering accurate and timely financial information.

PLEASE NOTE: All duties for this role are performed on site at the client’s office In Sacramento, California.

Key Responsibilities

  • General Ledger Management:

    Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper classification and compliance with accounting standards.

  • Month-End Close:


    Participate in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and variance analysis.

  • Account Reconciliation:


    Perform detailed reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting:


    Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial statements and reports.

  • Audit Support:


    Support internal and external audits by preparing audit schedules and responding to auditor inquiries.

  • Compliance:


    Ensure accounting procedures comply with GAAP and internal controls.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:


    Work closely with other departments (e.g., Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A) to gather and validate financial data.

Qualifications

  • Education:


    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required).

  • Experience:


    2–4 years of experience in general ledger accounting or a similar role.

  • Technical Skills:


    Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

  • Detail-Oriented:


    Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Analytical Thinking:


    Ability to analyze complex financial data and present findings clearly.

  • Communication:


    Strong verbal and written communication skills.
