Underwriting Assistant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is hiring an Underwriting Assistant for our healthcare client located in Sacramento. This position will be 100% onsite during training, and will potentially become a hybrid opportunity. Interested candidates must sit within a reasonable distance of Sacramento.

This position will be an assistant role to the underwriting team, helping to respond to inquiries from members and following up with requested information, auditing and updating documents, and helping the underwriting team with any other duties in order to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.

• High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree desired
• Minimum 2 years insurance underwriting experience, healthcare insurance experience strongly desired
• Must be able to work proficiently within Microsoft Office

• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Able to communicate effectively both in-person and over the phone
• Ability to work well independently
• Can work well under pressure and meet deadlines when needed
• Tech savvy and able to work well within multiple software systems
• Excellent able to research, analyze and make sound judgment calls
