LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant with a strong background in cost accounting and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial information, preparing financial statements, and supporting the company's financial operations. This role requires a professional with at least 4 years of accounting experience and a degree in accounting or finance. Location: St. Louis, MO Work Hours: Full-time, Monday - Friday, Hybrid schedule Salary: $80,000 - $95,000/year Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package, including major medical plans, 401(k) plan, paid time off, and more. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the cost accounting functions, ensuring accurate tracking of costs related to the manufacturing process.
- Prepare and analyze cost reports, identify trends, and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to monitor and control costs, improve efficiencies, and optimize resource allocation.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities, providing accurate cost estimates and financial projections.
- Conduct variance analysis to compare actual costs to budgeted/forecasted costs and report findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures.
- Assist in external audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- A minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a cost accounting role within the manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP systems is preferred.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
