Assistant Controller (Salary Range: $100,000 – $125,000 + 10-15% Bonus Target)

LHH is seeking an Assistant Controller for a leading manufacturer in the transportation technology industry, located in San Antonio, TX. This role involves supporting financial operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and contributing to accurate reporting and strategic planning for a growing company in the commercial vehicle sector.

The ideal candidate will have between four to six years of experience in public accounting or corporate finance, including at least two years in an Assistant Controller or similar capacity. In addition to holding or pursuing a CPA, the candidate should bring strong GAAP knowledge, financial reporting expertise, and experience with ERP systems in a manufacturing or industrial setting. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and analysis of monthly financial reports and support strategic planning through budgeting and forecasting.

  • Prepare, review, and ensure accuracy in balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in compliance with GAAP.

  • Manage and reconcile the general ledger and ensure timely journal entries.

  • Support internal process improvements and maintain effective internal financial controls.

  • Oversee fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and capital expenditure records.

  • Collaborate with auditors during interim and year-end audit cycles, providing necessary documentation and insights.

  • Monitor and report on cash flow forecasts as required by corporate headquarters.

  • Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and project support to the Controller.

Client Requirements

  • 4–6 years of experience in finance or public accounting, with at least 2 years in an Assistant Controller role.

  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy is strongly preferred.

  • Solid understanding of GAAP and corporate financial reporting requirements.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as EPICOR, SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, or NetSuite.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational abilities.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environment.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial finance is highly desirable.
