Position: Part-Time Accounting Specialist


Location: San Clemente, hybrid work scheduled 3x onsite


Type: Contract to Hire


Hours: 20-25 hours/week (work M-F; 8am-1pm)


Experience: 2-3 years in accounting


Pay: $23-28/hour, based on experience



We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for various accounting tasks, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Revenue Recognition: Convert sales orders into invoices to ensure accurate and timely revenue recognition.


  • Accounts Receivable: Oversee Accounts Receivable processes, including monitoring and managing collections to maintain cash flow.


  • Bank and Payment Management: Handle daily bank and credit card deposits, ensuring that payments are applied correctly and efficiently.


  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile the bank account on a daily basis and perform thorough month-end reconciliation.


  • Accounts Payable Processing: Process Accounts Payable invoices and verify W-9 forms for new vendors, ensuring compliance with company policies.


  • Purchase Order Management: Generate Purchase Orders for Accounts Payable invoices, maintaining accurate records and approvals.


  • ACH Payment Processing: Execute bi-weekly ACH payments for Accounts Payable and monitor the schedule to ensure timely invoice payments.


  • Credit Card Reconciliation: Reconcile credit card statements and accurately code expenses to the appropriate accounts.


  • Benefits Reconciliation: Reconcile health benefits and COBRA, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.



Qualifications:



  • 2-3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.


  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.


  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.


  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.


  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
