LHH is partnering with a long-standing construction company based in San Diego, specializing in commercial projects to hire a Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage Specialist. Our client is known for their commitment to quality, integrity, and adherence to prevailing wage regulations. Position Overview: The Certified Payroll and Prevailing Wage Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations, as well as accurate processing of certified payroll records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction payroll practices, prevailing wage requirements, and excellent organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and process certified payroll reports accurately and in compliance with prevailing wage laws.
Ensure timely submission of certified payroll reports to regulatory agencies and project owners.
Review payroll data to verify accuracy of hours worked, rates of pay, fringe benefits, and deductions.
Interpret and apply prevailing wage rates and regulations for various construction projects.
Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and payroll staff to gather necessary payroll information.
Maintain detailed records and documentation related to certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance.
Respond to inquiries and requests for information related to certified payroll and prevailing wage from regulatory agencies, auditors, and project stakeholders.
Stay current with changes in prevailing wage rates, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Assist in resolving payroll-related issues and discrepancies.
Experience and Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in certified payroll and prevailing wage compliance in the construction industry.
Knowledge of federal, state, and local prevailing wage laws and regulations.
Experience with LCPTracker a plus
Strong proficiency in payroll processing software and MS Office Suite, especially Excel.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex payroll data and reports.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Pay Details: $28.00 to $30.00 per hour
