HR Specialist position in Poway, CA

Overview:
LHH has partnered with an established global company that is searching for a new HR Specialist to join their team! The HR Specialist is integral in managing functions such as recruiting, onboarding, compliance, safety, and employee programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for employees and managers, offering guidance and ensuring smooth HR operations across multiple locations. Additionally, this DIRECT HIRE position provides administrative and project support to the HR team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Onboarding:
    Manage job postings, screen applicants, and coordinate interviews for temporary, intern, and full-time positions. Maintain relationships with staffing agencies, local colleges, and universities. Administer pre-employment processes such as background checks and drug screenings. Prepare and deliver new hire documentation and assist with new hire orientations.
  • HR & Employee Support:
    Act as the first point of contact for HR inquiries, providing information and directing employees to appropriate resources. Assist with employee programs, including recognition programs, service awards, and wellness events. Maintain and update personnel files, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Administrative Support:
    Provide day-to-day administrative assistance, including preparing purchase orders, processing invoices, and managing employee badging systems. Oversee office supplies, including employee business cards and company-branded items. Coordinate various employee drives and events.
  • Safety & Compliance:
    Support workplace safety initiatives by coordinating safety training and maintaining safety metrics. Assist with workers' compensation claims and ergonomic evaluations. Serve as a liaison for safety coordinators, ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Employee Relations & Program Management:
    Collaborate on employee events such as blood drives, wellness programs, and annual service award celebrations. Maintain communication with vendors and external partners for services like coffee supplies and vending machines. Update bulletin boards and legal notices regularly.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with expertise in recruitment, onboarding, safety programs, and employee services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and experience with HRIS systems (Oracle Fusion Cloud/HCM preferred).
  • Ability to multitask and adapt in a dynamic environment, managing complex tasks and projects efficiently.
