Job Title: Assistant Bookkeeper

Salary: $75,000 – $85,000

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Bookkeeper to join our client’s growing team. This position plays a critical role in supporting day-to-day financial operations, with a focus on accounts payable, payroll processing, invoicing, and maintaining accurate records in Sage 300 / Timberline.
Key Responsibilities:
Support accurate and timely payroll processing and assist in maintaining employee records
Manage accounts payable processes including vendor setup, invoice coding, and payment processing
Generate and issue customer invoices for both service and construction teams
Perform daily bank deposits and reconcile payments with open invoices
Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments and resend invoices or statements when needed
Maintain up-to-date financial records and generate reports as requested
Reconcile vendor statements and work to resolve discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities
Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and state/federal tax regulations (including sales tax reporting)
Use Sage 300 software for data entry, coding, and financial tracking
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Controller
Requirements:
Associate degree in Accounting or Finance, or 4+ years of related bookkeeping experience
Experience with Sage 300 / Timberline software strongly preferred
Knowledge of general accounting principles (GAAP)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams)
Strong communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
