Reports to: Director of Financial Reporting
Position Overview
Are you a payroll expert with a knack for precision and leadership? We're looking for a dynamic Manager, Payroll to join one of our client’s team in Cherry Hill, NJ. In this pivotal role, you'll oversee the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate employee payments while maintaining compliance with tax and legal requirements. You'll also lead a team of payroll specialists and collaborate with various departments to streamline processes and support payroll accounting and regulatory reporting.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Payroll Management: Handle the complete payroll cycle, including salary calculations, deductions, taxes, and benefits, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing.
Financial Standards Compliance: Identify variances, issue corrections, maintain expenditure records, and provide data for annual budget formulation.
Account Reconciliation: Collaborate with accounting to reconcile payroll ledgers and provide accurate payroll data for financial reporting.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on federal, state, and local payroll regulations to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and reporting requirements.
Audit and Reporting: Conduct payroll audits, manage external audits (including 401k audits), and generate payroll reports.
System Optimization: Implement, maintain, and optimize payroll systems, including updates and upgrades.
Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries and issues from employees and other stakeholders.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor a team of 2-3 payroll specialists, providing training and evaluating performance.
Qualifications
Minimum Required:
Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related field.
At least 7 years of payroll experience.
Certified Payroll Professional certification.
Proven experience managing payroll operations for a large organization.
Deep understanding of payroll laws and regulations.
Expertise in payroll systems and software.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in budget development and management.
Leadership abilities to manage and motivate a payroll team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Excellent time management skills.
Preferred:
Proven organizational skills.
Ability to direct, coach, and train others.
Consultative, influential, and strategic thinking.
Experience with ADP and UKG.
Pay Details: $115,000.00 to $12,500.00 per year
