Job Title: Sr. Property Accountant
Location: Near Newark, DE
Salary: $75,000 – $90,000
Schedule: On-site

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated Property Accountant to support accounting operations across a portfolio of commercial and residential properties. This role will work closely with Property Managers, Asset Managers, and leadership to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with accounting standards, and support for business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and post journal entries in accordance with month-end close timelines

• Perform general ledger account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies

• Produce monthly/quarterly financial statements with budget-to-actual variance analysis

• Maintain property cash schedules and forecasts

• Process monthly check runs and support accounts payable workflows

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual lender reports to ensure loan compliance

• Assist with audits and external CPA coordination for annual tax returns

• Support special projects, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• CPA or progress toward CPA preferred

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience (real estate industry a plus)

• Knowledge of GAAP and general ledger practices

• Experience with MRI Software highly preferred

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills

• Ability to thrive in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment
