Job Title: Dental Front Office Lead
Location: San Jose, CA
Pay Rate: $29–$32 per hour
Schedule: Full-time, Onsite

Overview:

A dynamic dental clinic in San Jose is seeking an experienced Dental Front Office Lead to supervise front desk operations and support the overall patient experience. Reporting to the Clinic Manager, this role ensures smooth check-in/check-out processes, accurate insurance verification, and adherence to safety and compliance standards. Ideal candidates are leaders with excellent customer service skills and a solid background in dental office operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise front desk team and oversee daily reception operations.

  • Ensure coverage for all front office shifts; assist with scheduling and workflow management.

  • Provide backup coverage at the front desk as needed.

  • Train and support reception staff on procedures, software, and service standards.

  • Serve as a resource for organizational policies and procedures.

  • Escalate patient concerns to clinical staff when appropriate.

  • Assist with timely insurance verifications and pre-authorizations.

  • Manage appointment scheduling and confirmations.

  • Reconcile daily financial transactions and maintain accurate records.

  • Monitor productivity and recommend process improvements.

  • Ensure compliance with OSHA and other health/safety regulations.

  • Support related projects and perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:


Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a dental office front desk role.

  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience.

  • CPR and BLS certification preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of dental office operations, terminology, and insurance processes.

  • Ability to lead and motivate a team while maintaining high service standards.

  • Familiarity with Epic EHR or similar systems.

  • Strong attention to detail and administrative accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including OSHA compliance.

  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) required.

Competencies:

  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.

  • Comfortable working with diverse populations and professional backgrounds.

  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle complex patient issues.



Pay Details: $29.00 to $32.00 per hour
