Senior Accountant

San Jose, CA (Hybrid)

We are looking for a seasoned accounting professional for a new opportunity in San Jose, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of accounting experience, be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have escheatment accounting experience. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the escheatment process, including identifying unclaimed property, preparing filings, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.

• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve discrepancies and improve financial workflows.

• Maintain and enhance internal controls related to cash management

• Support external audits and regulatory reviews related to escheatment and general accounting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years focused on escheatment or abandoned property.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting.

• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
