LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a client to hire a Payyroll Specialist with hands-on experience using UKG (Ultimate Kronos Group) software for a contract oppoertunity in San Leandro, California. In this role, you will be responsible for processing payroll for our employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely disbursements.Idellay, you will have a strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax laws, and the ability to manage payroll tasks efficiently using UKG software.

PLEASE NOTE: All duites are performed at the client’s main office in San Leandro, California. This is NOT a remote opportunity.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Payroll Processing: Accurately process bi-weekly or monthly payroll for all employees using UKG software, ensuring adherence to company policies and legal requirements.

  • Payroll Adjustments: Handle payroll adjustments, including overtime, bonuses, salary increases, deductions, and garnishments.

  • UKG Expertise: Utilize UKG software to maintain employee records, troubleshoot system issues, and ensure data accuracy for payroll.

  • Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations, labor laws, and company policies. Stay up to date with changes in payroll legislation.

  • Timekeeping & Attendance: Review and verify employee timesheets and attendance records using UKG’s timekeeping module, ensuring proper tracking of work hours and leave balances.

  • Tax Reporting & Filings: Assist in preparing and submitting payroll tax reports, including quarterly and annual filings, W-2s, and 1099s.

  • Benefits Administration Support: Work closely with HR and benefits teams to ensure accurate payroll deductions for benefits, including health insurance, 401(k) contributions, and other deductions.

  • Record Keeping & Audits: Maintain payroll records and support internal and external audits as required. Ensure all payroll data is up to date and organized for reporting purposes.

  • Employee Support: Address payroll-related inquiries from employees, ensuring timely resolution of issues related to pay discrepancies, deductions, or benefits.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, and ensure best practices are followed to increase efficiency and accuracy.

DESIRED SKILLS & Qualifications

  • UKG Software Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience working with UKG software (Ultimate Kronos Group), including payroll and timekeeping modules.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.

  • Payroll Experience: 3+ years of experience processing payroll in a medium to large organization, with in-depth knowledge of payroll practices and regulations.

  • Tax Knowledge: Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws and payroll tax reporting requirements.

  • Detail-Oriented: High attention to detail with the ability to manage complex payroll processes and resolve discrepancies.

  • Confidentiality: Maintain strict confidentiality regarding payroll and employee data.

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to handle employee inquiries and interact with HR and finance teams.

  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot payroll issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Strong skills in Excel, Word, and other office tools.

  • CPP Certification (Preferred): Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or similar certification is a plus.
