LHH is looking for a full-time Accounts Payable Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Department: Finance

Reports To: Accounts Payable Manager

Position Overview: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing all outgoing payments, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors and suppliers, and maintaining financial records related to accounts payable. This role is crucial for maintaining strong relationships with vendors and contributing to the smooth financial operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Invoice Processing:

· Receive, review, and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.

· Match invoices to purchase orders and receipts.

· Enter and upload invoices into the accounting system.

  1. Payment Processing:

· Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.

· Issue and distribute checks as needed.

· Ensure timely payment of invoices and expense reports.

  1. Reconciliation:

· Reconcile processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

· Resolve discrepancies and issues with invoices, vendors, and internal departments.

  1. Record Keeping:

· Maintain accurate and organized records of all accounts payable transactions.

· Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.

  1. Vendor Management:

· Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues.

· Maintain vendor files and ensure up-to-date information in the accounting system.

· Establish and maintain positive working relationships with vendors.

  1. Compliance:

· Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.

· Assist with audits by providing documentation and support as needed.

  1. Continuous Improvement:

· Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in accounts payable operations.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related accounting role.

  • Skills:

· Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle).

· Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
