LHH is partnering with a company in the construction industry to search for a temporary Accounts Payable Specialist for their team. This role is responsible for managing the company’s outgoing financial obligations, primarily focusing on processing vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, expense reports, and other payables. You will work on a team, and there will be some training provided, but the manager is looking for someone with at least three years of similar work experience. Also, you need to have a strong sense of organization and be able to function well in a fast-paced environment. This opportunity offers a hybrid schedule after training in Seattle, WA.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, review, and verify invoices and payment requests for accuracy and appropriate approvals, ensuring alignment with project budgets and purchase orders.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor files, respond to inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and foster positive relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare and execute weekly check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers, ensuring compliance with established payment terms and contractual obligations.
  • Review and process employee reimbursement requests, verifying supporting documentation and compliance with company policies.
  • Match purchase orders, receiving reports, and invoices to ensure accuracy and resolve any discrepancies prior to payment.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities by preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all payables are accurately recorded.
  • Work closely with project managers, estimators, and field staff to resolve payment issues, gather approvals, and verify costs.
Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 3 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills for interaction with vendors, colleagues, and management.
Employment Details
  • Temporary for six months
  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid after training


Pay Details: $27.00 to $30.00 per hour
