LHH is looking for a full-time Bookkeeper to join our client-growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.


Position Overview:

The Bookkeeper is responsible for managing and maintaining the company’s financial records, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, and supporting the preparation of financial reports. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Transactions

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and maintain the general ledger.

  • Verify, classify, and post financial data accurately.

  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing, payments, and collections.

  1. Bank Reconciliations

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.

  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.

  1. Payroll Support

  • Assist in processing payroll and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Maintain accurate payroll records.

  1. Tax and Compliance

  • Prepare and submit tax forms such as VAT, GST, or sales tax returns as required.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.

  1. Reporting

  • Generate financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.

  • Provide support for audits and budget preparation.

  1. Data Management

  • Maintain organized and secure financial records.

  • Utilize accounting software to streamline financial processes.

  1. Other Duties

  • Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement.

  • Support other finance-related tasks as assigned.


Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred.

  • years of bookkeeping or relevant experience required.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar).

  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.

Compensation: $25-$28/hour DOE
