This role provides administrative, clerical, and technical support to the HR Support function. The HR Support Specialist partners with Operations, Human Resources, and Payroll to coordinate projects and activities, maintaining critical HR Support and employee dispatch records.

Essential Functions and Major Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Kronos Human Resources/Payroll system to document employee status and work assignments.

  • Compile and format data from various sources to prepare reports, including staffing reports for supervisors and managers.

  • Process staffing requests, including preparing paperwork, dispatch requests, and documenting efforts to secure staffing through unions or the Applicant Tracking system.

  • Interact with Human Resources to arrange selection processes, such as scheduling interviews and tracking results.

  • Assist employees with timecard and timekeeping instructions, weekly paycheck distribution, and time entry processing.

  • Facilitate new employee processing, including administering first-day activities and ensuring document completeness.

  • Apply knowledge of collective bargaining agreements to respond to employee questions and ensure proper application of provisions and benefits.

  • Perform related administrative functions, such as answering phones, processing unemployment claims, filing, and ordering supplies.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency in PC applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.

  • Knowledge of human resources principles and employee record-keeping.

  • Ability to understand staffing needs and applicable terminology.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written.

  • Ability to work under pressure, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.

  • Ability to quickly learn processes, procedures, and guidelines.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate required.

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a Customer Service or Human Resources role.

  • Knowledge of Kronos Workforce Timekeeper preferred.

Physical Demands: The work is conducted in a dynamic, fast-paced office setting with moderate to loud noise levels. Occasional walking within the production areas may be required. The role requires the ability to operate office equipment and computer systems.

Work Environment: The role may involve exposure to all weather conditions, noise, dust, and odors in production areas. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Additional Requirements:

  • The role is with a federally contracted employer and requires US Persons status.

  • Successful candidates must pass a drug and alcohol test and background check as part of pre-employment screening.



Pay Details: $23.55 per hour
