LHH has partnered with a leading law firm who is seeking a proactive Litigation Practice Assistant to join our dynamic legal team in Seattle. This role is ideal for someone with strong litigation support experience, excellent administrative skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
As a Litigation Practice Assistant, you will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to attorneys and stakeholders, including:
Drafting, editing, and proofreading legal documents, correspondence, and memoranda with attention to detail and context.
Managing court filings, including e-filing in Washington State and U.S. District Courts, and ensuring compliance with court rules and litigation procedures.
Organizing and maintaining case files and correspondence using a document management system.
Managing calendars, scheduling meetings, and coordinating logistics.
Handling email and contact list management for attorneys and clients.
Coordinating with internal departments and external vendors as needed.
Supporting business development efforts and conducting legal research using internal library resources.
Managing physical and electronic files, including intake, retention, retrieval, and transfer of records.
Performing quality checks to ensure accurate document storage and organization.
Scanning and importing documents into the document management system.
Assisting with time entry, billing, and expense reporting.
Opening new matters, conducting conflict checks, and preparing check requests.
Coordinating domestic and international travel arrangements and processing reimbursements.
Providing backup support for reception, office services, and other practice assistants as needed.
Performing additional duties as assigned by supervisors or senior stakeholders.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Qualifications & Skills
To succeed in this role, you should bring:
3–5 years of experience as a legal practice assistant, executive assistant, or administrative assistant, preferably in a large law or professional services firm.
Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, court rules, and bankruptcy processes.
Proficiency in Microsoft 365; familiarity with Elite 3E, iManage, Adobe Acrobat, Concur, and Intapp is preferred.
Initiative and the ability to anticipate needs and take ownership of tasks.
A professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and staff.
A positive attitude, growth mindset, and openness to feedback.
