LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Clerk to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.
Job Title: Payroll Clerk (6-Month Contract)
Location: Seattle, WA
Duration: 6 Months
Pay Rate: $25–$30/hour (W2)

Reports To: Payroll Manager / Accounting Supervisor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Clerk for a 6-month contract role to support our payroll department in Seattle, WA. This individual will assist with data entry, timesheet review, and payroll processing tasks to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities:
Enter, verify, and update employee time and payroll data in payroll systems
Review timesheets and attendance records for accuracy and completeness
Assist in processing bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll runs
Respond to employee inquiries regarding pay, deductions, or time reporting
Maintain and update payroll records, including new hires and terminations
Support payroll reporting, audits, and filing of payroll documents
Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable payroll laws
Assist with year-end activities such as W-2 distribution and reporting
Qualifications:
1–2 years of payroll or related administrative experience
Familiarity with payroll software and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Kronos, Paychex)
Basic understanding of payroll procedures and wage laws
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to handle confidential information with integrity
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and data entry
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Washington state payroll processing
Associate’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
