LHH is looking for a full-time Staff Accountant to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring the accuracy of our accounting processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and grow within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. General Ledger Management

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.

  • Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.

  1. Month-End and Year-End Close

  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.

  1. Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.

  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.

  1. Financial Reporting

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

  • Provide support during internal and external audits.

  1. Compliance and Accuracy

  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

  • Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and data.

  1. Tax and Regulatory Filings

  • Assist with preparation and submission of tax documents.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

  1. Special Projects

  • Participate in ad hoc projects, including system implementations and process improvements.

  • Support senior accountants and management as needed.


Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.

  • 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred; recent graduates with internships or relevant coursework are encouraged to apply.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and MS Excel.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Compensation: $30-$35/hour DOE
