Our client in Secaucus, NJ is looking to hire a Trade Compliance Analyst.

Job Summary: The Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for supply chain data analysis, with a focus on tariffs and freight costs. This role plays a critical part in providing insightful analysis for our multinational import business. Additionally, the individual will assist with internal controls and drive improvements in key processes.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Maintain records for import and export day-to-day entry filings and activities.
  • Support classification in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Schedule B, and Harmonized System Code to ensure compliant imports and exports, duty savings, and overall program benefits.
  • Evaluate documentation associated with imports and exports prior to shipment for accuracy and duty drawback opportunities.
  • Support post-entry corrections as necessary and maintain all related records.
  • Create reporting metrics for internal audits, clearance accuracy, duty, tax, and other visibility needs.
  • Assist in implementing corrective actions resulting from internal audits and compliance issues.
  • Monitor all import and export transactions to ensure conformance with the laws and regulations of the involved countries.
  • Handle basic issues and problems under supervision, escalating more complex issues to the appropriate staff or team.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding, ocean/air logistics, international transportation, or E-commerce preferred.
  • Experience with import trade activities and customs compliance is preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with SAP is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).
  • Demonstrated ability to use critical thinking for problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented and organized.
  • Excellent communication, written, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn new skills and responsibilities


Pay Details: $75,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
