Office Support Clerk

The Office Support Clerk provides clerical support in the assigned office following Company Guidelines, client needs, and regulatory requirements.



Location: Spokane, WA 99201-2200

Compensation: $18.00 - $19.00 Depending on experience

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Answers incoming telephone calls; routes calls to appropriate staff members; documents and distributes messages accordingly. (Makes outgoing calls researching provider information concerning returned checks)

  • Greets visitors to the reception area, directs them to appropriate staff and coordinates appointments as necessary.

  • Responds to basic inquiries from participants, beneficiaries, and union representatives regarding benefit plans.

  • Maintains lobby and reception area in an organized and professional manner.

  • Performs clerical duties such as filing, preparing documents, photocopying, scanning, faxing, collating, or performing data entry as needed.

  • Sorts mail for various departments, scans, delivers or forwards to appropriate individuals, regions, vendors, or teams.

  • Contact providers to verify valid billing information.

  • Operates various mailroom equipment, postage meters, scales & letter openers, including ordering toner cartridges.

  • Handles ordering & pulling files from storage.

  • Contacting Devries for shredding of documents

  • Assisting all departments with mailing, printing, and stuffing envelopes

  • Handles calls for repair of office equipment.

  • Maintains office supply counts for requesting supply orders.

  • Prepares & posts outgoing mail/UPS shipments.

  • Assists the claims team with pulling checks for deposits. Pull & forward checks, update check log. (Keeps checks under lock & key)

  • Inform appropriate personnel of subrogation checks.

  • Prepares reports for postage machine for Client Services (cost reporting)


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum Education High School Diploma or GED

  • Minimum 1-year experience in office administration/clerk or related work experience

  • Possess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.

  • Highly developed sense of integrity and commitment to customer satisfaction.

  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.

  • Solid organization skills with strong detail orientation and listening skills.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business materials, technical procedures, benefit plans, and regulations.

  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Word and Excel.

  • Ability to operate office equipment such as PC or CRT, Calculator, FAX, copier, etc.

  • Ability to work independently, organize and prioritize workload, multi-task, and complete projects within deadlines.

  • Office equipment maintenance and minor repair preferred.

  • Able to maintain excellent attendance and punctuality.



Pay Details: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour
