Job Title: Accounts Payable and Billing Specialist
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable and Billing Specialist to join our team. This role involves splitting time between the billing and accounts payable departments. The ideal candidate will manage accounts payable emails, open USPS mail, and assist with miscellaneous billing functions. This position reports to the Controller and collaborates closely with multiple departments.
Responsibilities
Manage the entire procurement cycle
Reconcile vendor statements
Maintain vendor accounts
Respond to all vendor inquiries regarding finance
Prepare analyses of activity in GL accounts and monthly reconciliations
Leverage technology for process improvements
Focus on continuous improvement
Handle accounts payable emails
Open and process USPS mail
Assist with miscellaneous billing functions
Qualifications
Detail-oriented with exceptional self-awareness and accountability
Sharp problem-solving skills paired with a proactive mindset
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
Job costing experience - construction preferred
Sales & use tax experience
Strong understanding of financial statements
Requirements
3+ years of accounting experience
2+ years working in an ERP such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Great Plains, SAP, and/or Viewpoint
Strong Microsoft Office skills, specifically Excel (pivot tables, V-lookup)
Strong computer processing skills and the ability to adapt to new programs
Resourceful and creative process improvement skills
Understanding of profit & loss statement and balance sheet
Ability to be a team player and assist wherever needed
Ability to consistently meet deadlines
High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Requirements
BA or BS degree
BA or BS degree in Accounting
3+ years of accounts payable experience
