LHH is seeking an HSE COORDINATOR for a direct hire position in Stafford, TX.

Location: 100% ONSITE – Stafford, TX 77477


Pay Range: $60,000-80,000 annually DOE


Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 7-4, 8-5 or 9-6


SUMMARY:


Under the Direction of the Quality Director, the QHSE Supervisor will oversee, monitor, and assist Quality and HSE programs implementation throughout all company business locations.



The QHSE Coordinator position is integral to the success of Cortland’s growing business; the position will have the responsibility for ensuring that the Quality and HSE management system on the manufacturing floor are robust and followed to ensure product compliance and employee safety. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments to review and validate procedures based on quality and regulatory requirements. The QHSE Coordinator shall demonstrate strong attention to detail and have analytical and problem-solving abilities. This role shall also interpret and implement quality and HSE regulatory and industry standards to provide accurate and comprehensive feedback to colleagues. The QHSE Coordinator shall take an active role in the Internal Quality and HSE Audit program.


DUTIES:


· Promote Quality and Safety goals, objectives and standards throughout company operations.


· Effectively work as a Team with personnel from Operations (Domestic and Corporate locations) in order to positively create a progressive structure and quality and safety culture.


· Track and monitor HSE performance for all Cortland Industrial Locations. Use collected data to make improvements or suggestions towards the Quality and HSE Management System and other programs.


· Perform internal audits and regulatory assessments as scheduled.


· Actively assist Operations Leads to aid in developing Safety Leadership, Skills, and Knowledge.


· Respond to local Injury Management cases when shop personnel require medical attention and/or evaluation.


· Work closely with OSHA regulations to ensure the company maintains consistent compliance with rules and regulations.


· Lead and/or participate in incident investigations and ensure root cause analysis corrective actions and gaps are closed (when identified) in the Quality and/or Safety Management Systems.


§ Participate in Incident/Injury investigations including the preparation of RCA's.


**Document injury on KPIs and required Database, as applicable. Oversee data is in database and ensure action items are closed out.


· Report back to operations positive feedback and lessons learned to ensure HSE awareness remains at the highest level possible.


· Conduct HSE presentations for the company and customers as needed.


· Collect and disseminate information to operations on incidents and injuries.


· Conduct routine walk-throughs of the facilities to observe operations and obtain employee feedback.


· Monitor critical elements / HSE performance for the company.


· Analyze incident/injury causes and hazards (through trends and stats) to personnel, property, and develop recommended preventive measures.


· Participate and/or lead QHSE meetings routinely.


· Monitor injury management as required.


· Ensure Safety Alerts and HIPO's are communicated and documented in a timely manner.


· Ensure pro-active efforts are captured monthly and reported (training, safety meetings, audits, etc.).


· Assist in emergency situations as needed or as trained to do so.


· Assist and monitor safety incidents and other non-conformances that are logged into the applicable database.


· Complete special projects as needed as it relates to Quality or HSE.


· Identify procedural and instruction gaps, develop and implement procedures as needed to meet regulatory and industry HSE standards.


· Provide training to personnel as required.


· Assist in maintaining a smooth flow of information within the HSE Department as well as to key management personnel, customers and line employees.


· Utilize a visible commitment to safety, use positive reinforcement, and make one-on-one contacts to discuss safety with management and line personnel.


· Perform risk assessments for critical tasks.


· Monitor processes to ensure product, process and system requirements are complied with in day-to-day operations, including interaction with all Operations personnel.


· Initiate, implement and verify any action necessary to correct and prevent the occurrence of deficiencies relating to product, process or system.


· Suspend or halt any procedure or process when non-conformances exists until for accurate disposition and implementation of corrective actions.


· Effectively manage and communicate product, process and system quality issues with all departments on a day-to-day basis.


· Coordinate and carry out any Quality related training required within her/his area of expertise.


· Promote regular communication of Customer requirements to Production Supervisor and Shift Leads.


· Perform special projects as required by management.


· Process priorities in a timely manner.


· Keep a safe and clean environment and Follow safety rules.


· Perform compliance assessments and internal audits.


· Accompany third party inspectors for validation of test reports and witnessing purposes.


· Supervises the work of quality technicians and inspectors.


· Additional tasks as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:


· High School diploma or GED. Associate’s degree or higher preferred.



  • Certification in HSE (COSS, CSP, ASP, CSHO, etc.) helpful, but may be substituted based on experience.


  • Formal Safety Instructing / Training or Degree helpful but may be substituted based on experience.


SKILLS:



  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office).


  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.


  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.


EXPERIENCE:



  • 3-5 years’ experience in implementing and maintaining QHSE systems.


  • 3-5 years’ experience with OSHA and any applicable regulatory safety standards.


  • At least 1 year auditing experience with ISO 9001, 45001, and 14001 is preferred.
