LHH is working with a small, family-owned company that is searching for an Accounts Payable Analyst. This is a newly created position due to the growth of the organization, and you will get an opportunity to do a blend of accounting, analysis, and procurement. The manager is looking for an individual who has both accounting and procurement experience since you will be handling vendor management, reporting, and analysis. This role is fully onsite in the Tacoma, WA office.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and process a high volume of vendor invoices for accuracy, appropriate documentation, and compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors through checks, wire transfers, or electronic payment systems.
  • Address discrepancies in invoices by liaising with vendors and internal teams to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain detailed records of all accounts payable transactions for audit purposes.
  • Reconcile accounts payable ledger to ensure all payments are accounted for and properly posted.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end financial closing processes by preparing and reviewing accounts payable reports.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies between vendor statements and company records.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard the organization's assets.
  • Monitor and manage tax compliance related to vendor payments, such as withholding taxes and value-added taxes (VAT).
  • Prepare and maintain documentation required for audits, ensuring accuracy and availability.
  • Identify areas for improvement in the accounts payable process and recommend solutions for greater efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in accounts payable or a related role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Knowledge of financial regulations, tax compliance, and internal controls.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.

Employment Details

  • Direct hire
  • Salary between $65,000 to $70,000
  • M/D/V coverage offered
  • IRA with contribution
  • 80 hours of PTO
  • Bonus eligible
