Project Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is working with a construction company near Tempe. This company is in search of a project accountant to join their team. This job is Monday-Friday 7am-4pm, and will require some local travel. To be considered you must have recent AIA billing experience. Salary is up to $70k.

As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting our project management and accounting teams. You’ll be responsible for job cost tracking, preparing AIA billings, managing subcontractor pay applications, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit AIA billing applications and ensure compliance with contract terms
  • Manage job cost reports and track project budgets and expenses
  • Review and process subcontractor and vendor invoices, lien waivers, and change orders
  • Reconcile project financials and assist in month-end close processes
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accuracy of job costing and forecasting
  • Maintain up-to-date and organized project files and documentation
  • Monitor accounts receivable and assist with collections as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree preferred
  • 3+ years of accounting experience in the construction industry (Required)
  • Proficient in AIA billing and construction contract documentation (Required)
  • Strong understanding of job costing and project financials
  • Experience with construction accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Procore, or similar)
  • High attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and on-site full-time in a fast-paced environment

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
