Position Summary
This is a newly created opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to join a dynamic corporate accounting team supporting a complex real estate portfolio. The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a key role in managing financial consolidations and reporting processes for multiple business entities, including both public and private investment vehicles.
This individual will be involved in month-end close, financial analysis, audit support, and cash management, while also contributing to process improvement and internal control initiatives. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in technical accounting, excellent communication skills, and experience in real estate or REIT environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the consolidation of financial data across various entities and support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
Assist in monthly and quarterly close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and/or IFRS.
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations for corporate entities.
Support audit and compliance activities, including coordination with external auditors.
Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial inputs and accruals.
Participate in cash management activities such as transfers, wire processing, and reporting.
Evaluate and strengthen internal controls related to accounting processes.
Conduct technical accounting research as needed and support special projects.
Assist with forecasting and budgeting cycles.
Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve invoice discrepancies and support day-to-day operational accounting.
Qualifications
3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally with exposure to real estate, REITs, or consolidations.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
CPA or public accounting experience preferred.
Strong understanding of GAAP and/or IFRS.
Experience with real estate accounting systems such as MRI or Yardi is strongly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills and strong general systems proficiency.
Self-starter with the ability to manage deadlines and work both independently and in a team environment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
