Accounting Manager
Location: Trenton, NJ (On-site)
Salary: $115,000 – $120,000/year

A client of LHH Recruitment in the life sciences industry is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead their accounting operations and support financial reporting, compliance, and strategic planning. This is a key leadership role with visibility across departments and the opportunity to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, A/P, A/R, and payroll
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Manage the month-end and year-end close processes
• Coordinate audits and liaise with external auditors
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on financial planning and reporting
• Implement process improvements and financial systems enhancements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred)
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience in the life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical industry is a plus
• Proficiency in accounting software and Excel
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
