LHH is looking for a Legal Assistant – Estate & Succession Planning for a law firm in Troy, MI dealing with high worth individuals. This is an in office role with Up to 4 remote days/month (max 2 per week)


About the Role:

You’ll support attorneys working with high-net-worth individuals on complex estate strategies. Ideal for candidates with 3-5 years of legal support experience, especially in estate, trust, or probate work.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and prepare estate planning documents: wills, trusts, deeds, powers of attorney, probate pleadings

  • Coordinate and schedule client estate plan signings

  • Maintain digital and physical client files in accordance with firm policy

  • Update and organize client binders and related correspondence

  • Track and log estate/trust tax documents and financial statements

  • Communicate with clients, fiduciaries, and beneficiaries with professionalism

  • Manage attorney calendars, meetings, and travel arrangements

  • Track and enter attorney reimbursable expenses

  • Open new client matters and ensure files remain current and accurate

  • Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times


Required Skills & Experience:

  • 3–5 years of legal assistant experience (estate planning/probate experience strongly preferred)

  • Strong writing, editing, grammar, and proofreading abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat DC

  • Familiarity with HotDocs and ProSystems Fx a plus

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Able to work independently and exercise sound judgment

  • Excellent communication and client service skills

Additional Details:

  • On-site required in Troy, MI

  • Remote flexibility: Up to 4 days/month, but no more than 2 remote days/week

  • Reports to attorneys and paralegals within the Estate Planning group



    Salary: $60,000 – $70,000 plus benefits



Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 per year
