A leading aerospace manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our purchasing team. This role involves procuring custom-made components essential for manufacturing tools used in airplane production (not directly for aircraft). This high-impact position requires expertise in managing supplier relationships, reading complex blueprints, and handling low-volume, high-mix custom orders. You’ll be the key point of contact with suppliers to maintain quality, schedule adherence, and cost-effectiveness.

Job Title: Buyer - Manufacturing Materials

Location: Tukwila, WA

Schedule: Full-Time (40hrs/wk), Hybrid upon approval

Employment Type: Direct-Hire

Salary: $65-85k/year

Responsibilities:

· Procure and Manage Inventory

o Place orders, review and manage purchase orders, and ensure accuracy in quantities and pricing.

· Supplier Relations

o Maintain and expand relationships with a high number of suppliers, working proactively to address issues and ensure deadlines are met.

· Blueprint Interpretation

o Read and interpret Boeing and other complex blueprints, providing guidance to suppliers as needed.

· Scheduling and Priority Management

o Coordinate with suppliers to prioritize schedules and resolve workflow issues, holding weekly check-in calls.

· ERP System Usage

o Work within the SAP ERP system (or similar) for purchasing, inventory management, and tracking supplier details.

Requirements:

· 2-5 years in purchasing or procurement, ideally in manufacturing (machining, machine shops, automotive, or aerospace).

· Ability to read Boeing blueprints and complex technical drawings.

· SAP ERP experience preferred; open to candidates with similar ERP expertise.

· Strong assertiveness and proactive communication skills are essential, both over phone and email.

· Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel (ability to analyze and organize data efficiently).
