Trust & Estates Legal Assistant - Hybrid, Uniondale, NY
LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Trust & Estates Legal Assistant with at least 5 years of experience to work on a hybrid basis. The ideal candidate will have experience is a similar role and a strong background in Trusts and Estates to support attorneys and clients (taking initiative and exhibiting excellent judgment in managing responsibilities, adapt to evolving technology and legal processes, approach work with professionalism, discretion, and integrity). This full-time position requires a proactive, detail-oriented professional who excels in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys in drafting and finalizing estate planning documents
  • Maintain case files and monitor deadlines using case management software
  • Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings
  • Handle client communications and respond to inquiries professionally and promptly
  • Format, proofread, and prepare correspondence, retainer letters, and legal filings
  • Submit expense and reimbursement reports using Chrome River
  • Perform E-Filing and document scanning as needed
  • Attend Will signings and provide administrative support during client meetings
  • Collaborate with other staff and demonstrate a positive, team-oriented attitude
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working in a law firm, with specific experience in Trusts and Estates law
  • Proficiency in preparing legal documents such as Wills, Trusts, Health Care Proxies, Living Wills, and Powers of Attorney
  • Exceptional typing skills (55+ WPM) with strong spelling, grammar, and proofreading abilities
  • Highly organized, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently or collaboratively
  • Must be professional, empathetic, and comfortable working closely with clients and their families
  • Experience with NetDocs and legal time entry software such as Expert Time is a plus
