Operations Manager
We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead and optimize metal fabrication operations for a client supporting the aerospace sector. This role is critical in ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with aerospace standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee Daily Operations: Manage end-to-end shop floor activities including fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly of aerospace components.
Production Planning: Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer deadlines and quality expectations.
Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production supervisors, technicians, and support staff to ensure high performance and accountability.
Process Optimization: Identify and implement lean manufacturing practices to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.
Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards; collaborate with QA teams to resolve non-conformances.
Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Monitor raw material levels, coordinate with procurement, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and industry-specific regulations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, and customer service teams to align operations with business goals.
Reporting & Metrics: Track KPIs such as OEE, on-time delivery, scrap rates, and labor efficiency; present regular updates to senior leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).
3-5 years of experience in operations or production management within aerospace or precision metal fabrication.
Recent Aerospace Industry experience required
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
Proven leadership and team-building skills.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
