Operations Manager

We are seeking a results-driven and detail-oriented Operations Manager to lead and optimize metal fabrication operations for a client supporting the aerospace sector. This role is critical in ensuring production efficiency, quality assurance, and compliance with aerospace standards while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage end-to-end shop floor activities including fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly of aerospace components.

  • Production Planning: Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer deadlines and quality expectations.

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor production supervisors, technicians, and support staff to ensure high performance and accountability.

  • Process Optimization: Identify and implement lean manufacturing practices to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with AS9100 and other aerospace quality standards; collaborate with QA teams to resolve non-conformances.

  • Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Monitor raw material levels, coordinate with procurement, and manage vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery of materials.

  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure adherence to OSHA and industry-specific regulations.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, sales, and customer service teams to align operations with business goals.

  • Reporting & Metrics: Track KPIs such as OEE, on-time delivery, scrap rates, and labor efficiency; present regular updates to senior leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field (Master’s preferred).

  • 3-5 years of experience in operations or production management within aerospace or precision metal fabrication.

  • Recent Aerospace Industry experience required

  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).

  • Proven leadership and team-building skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational abilities.
