A well-respected law firm in Washington, DC, specializing in trust & estates is immediately seeking a mid-level Associate to join their growing practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drafting estate planning documents, preparing probate filings, and researching complex tax planning matters related to estate planning.

Core Skills
The ideal candidate will possess excellent research & writing skills, the ability to draft sophisticated estate planning documents, and experience preparing probate filings. Organization and attention to detail are paramount, however the most important skill to excel in this role is communication. The ideal candidate must be a strong communicator and have a desire to communicate with clients, particularly when it comes to preparing, reviewing, and negotiating marital agreements.

Responsibilities
Drafting estate planning documents including trust agreements, powers of attorney, advance medical directives, and deed
Preparing probate filings
Complex tax research projects regarding income tax and estate and gift tax
Preparing, reviewing, and negotiating premarital agreements
Assist & advise General Litigation practice in contested trusts and estates matters
Qualifications
Barred in the District of Colombia
4+ years of experience
Experience with estate planning, probate, and tax research
Smart & sharp worker who works well in a team setting
Good communicator with the ability to collaborate on work product
Barred in MD and VA is a huge plus
Compensation & Benefits
Highly competitive salary commensurate on experience ($120k - $160k)
Bonuses delivered upon exceeding billables (annual review process)
