Position Summary: Quality Engineer
As a Quality Engineer, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring their products meet stringent quality standards and specifications. Collaborating with their talented team, you'll assist in creating and implementing a robust Quality Management System (QMS) while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal production teams.
Essential Functions:
Assist in developing and implementing a Quality Management System (QMS)
Establish measurable quality improvement plans
Lead audits of supplier quality and ensure adherence to standards
Track Quality Metrics for all manufacturing procedures
Conduct inspections and audits of completed products
Develop Non-Conformance Material (NCM) process and provide feedback to suppliers
Collaborate with Design Engineering to ensure correct specifications are applied
Work with Product Service to drive continuous improvement in workmanship and supplier quality
Review engineering drawings for key characteristics and critical items
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA's):
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents
Extensive knowledge of production processes or ability to quickly learn
Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective liaison with Managers, Customer Service, and suppliers
Proficiency in analytical and problem-solving skills
Familiarity with Six Sigma concepts, Blueprint reading, GD&T, Problem-solving tools (8D), PFMEA, PPAP, and measurement tools/systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field
5-10 years of experience as a Quality Engineer or similar role
Hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and testing methodologies
Excellent understanding of technical documentation
Familiarity with statistical analysis and reporting
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
ASQ or other related certifications are a plus
Working Conditions:
Primarily office work with frequent daily activities in the manufacturing shop
Occasional outdoor activities working on equipment in various weather conditions
Occasional travel to customer offices, shops, and worksites (typically less than 5%)
