Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: Tamarac, FL
Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 (Direct Hire)
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

A well-established and growing organization in the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to join their accounting team in Tamarac, Florida. This is a direct hire opportunity for a professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee service.

Position Summary:


Reporting to the Accounting Manager/Controller, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing weekly payroll for over 500 employees. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting general accounting functions such as reconciliations and audits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process end-to-end weekly payroll for 500+ employees

  • Monitor time reporting systems and resolve discrepancies

  • Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, exemptions, and departmental changes

  • Administer 401(k) loans and amortizations

  • Calculate payroll liabilities including taxes, unemployment, and workers’ compensation

  • Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy

  • Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits and year-end filings (W-2s, 1099s, 1094/1095c)

  • Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure data alignment and reporting accuracy

  • Support bonus, commission, and incentive payouts

  • Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all payroll-related regulations

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of payroll processing experience preferred

  • Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance

  • Familiarity with accounting principles (debits, credits, A/P, A/R, budgeting)

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Sage is a plus

  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently

  • High school diploma required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR preferred

  • A sense of humor and a collaborative spirit are highly valued
