Job Title: Payroll Administrator
Location: Tamarac, FL
Salary Range: $60,000 – $70,000 (Direct Hire)
Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site
About the Opportunity: A well-established and growing organization in the manufacturing and distribution sector is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager/Controller, the Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing weekly payroll for over 500 employees. This role plays a critical part in ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing, maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations, and supporting general accounting functions such as reconciliations and audits.
Key Responsibilities:
Process end-to-end weekly payroll for 500+ employees
Monitor time reporting systems and resolve discrepancies
Maintain and update payroll records, including deductions, exemptions, and departmental changes
Administer 401(k) loans and amortizations
Calculate payroll liabilities including taxes, unemployment, and workers’ compensation
Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
Reconcile payroll accounts and assist with audits and year-end filings (W-2s, 1099s, 1094/1095c)
Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure data alignment and reporting accuracy
Support bonus, commission, and incentive payouts
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with all payroll-related regulations
Qualifications:
5+ years of payroll processing experience preferred
Strong knowledge of payroll laws, taxes, and compliance
Familiarity with accounting principles (debits, credits, A/P, A/R, budgeting)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with Sage is a plus
High attention to detail and ability to work independently
High school diploma required; degree in Accounting, Finance, or HR preferred
A sense of humor and a collaborative spirit are highly valued
