Job Title: Property Accountant
Location: West Palm Beach, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite
Pay: $60,000 - $85,000 per year (based on experience)
Job Type: Direct Hire
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Manage the general ledger, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Oversee all aspects of the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes for assigned properties, including invoice coding, payment processing, and tenant billing.
- Review and monitor property budgets, providing financial analysis and variance reports to property managers and senior management.
- Reconcile bank statements, property management system reports, and other accounts on a regular basis to ensure accuracy in financial data.
- Assist with CAM (Common Area Maintenance) reconciliations and tenant billings, ensuring correct allocation of property expenses.
- Collaborate with property management and leasing teams to ensure that all accounting and financial activities align with operational goals and lease terms.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial reporting packages, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Support the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and working with external auditors as needed.
- Ensure compliance with real estate accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in property accounting or real estate finance.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate-specific accounting principles.
- Experience with property management accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with property managers and other team members.
- Ability to manage multiple properties and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with CAM reconciliations and tenant billing is preferred.
Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $80,000.00 per year
