About the Role:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Assistant Controller to join our dynamic automotive dealership team. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity designed for a motivated accounting professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment and is looking to grow into a long-term leadership role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the Controller in managing all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and assist with year-end audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, dealership policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Collaborate with department managers to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Maintain and improve accounting systems and processes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the automotive dealership industry.
• Strong knowledge of dealership management systems (e.g., CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
