LHH is looking to hire an Accounts Payable Manager for a client near Westmont, IL. This role requires leading and developing a team, implementing policies to enhance efficiency, and managing high-performance standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and Develop Team: Provide leadership to the Accounts Payable staff by offering training, coaching, and performance management. Identify and support development opportunities to enhance team capabilities.

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day Accounts Payable operations, including invoice and payment processing, customer service, and KPI tracking. Analyze performance metrics to uncover trends and areas for improvement.

  • Payment Coordination: Handle daily payment runs and time-sensitive payment requests, ensuring accurate and timely completion of vendor payments with full accountability.

  • Drive Automation and Efficiency: Identify and implement opportunities for automation and technological enhancements within the Accounts Payable function. Participate in system and operational project implementations.

  • Report Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and analyze Accounts Payable reports, including insights on AP aging, cash forecasts, cash flow, liabilities, and vendor performance. Present reports and forecasts to senior management.

  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure timely and accurate invoice and payment processing. Maintain best-in-class Accounts Payable processes, including multi-location invoice processing, reconciliations, and controls.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee vendor relationships, including setup, maintenance, and issue resolution.

  • Month-End Close: Perform month-end close responsibilities and related tasks as needed.

  • Compliance and Controls: Maintain a thorough understanding of internal controls, compliance requirements, and financial reporting standards.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of AP experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience

  • Experience with Microsoft D365

  • Experience in managing large-scale shared services environments is crucial.
