The Order Entry Specialist is responsible for accurately processing customer orders and ensuring seamless coordination between sales, operations, and fulfillment teams. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This is a Contract to Hire opportunity located near Wheeling, IL.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately enter customer orders into the system, verifying pricing, product codes, and delivery details.
- Review and validate order information for completeness and compliance with company policies.
- Communicate with customers, sales representatives, and internal departments to resolve order discrepancies or special requests.
- Monitor order status and proactively follow up on backorders, shipping delays, or inventory issues.
- Maintain organized records of orders, changes, and correspondence for audit and tracking purposes.
- Collaborate with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in order entry, data entry, customer service, or administrative support roles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data processing and documentation.
- Proficiency in order management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with inventory systems, shipping processes, or supply chain operations is a plus.

- Pay is $25-$30 an hour, depending on experience
