Job Title: Logistics Planner (Wilmington, NC)

Job Description:

Overview: The Logistics Planner is responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective forecasting, planning, coordination, and execution of the logistics operations within the organization. This role involves managing the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods to ensure timely delivery and optimal inventory levels. The Logistics Planner will work closely with various departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to streamline logistics processes and support the overall supply chain strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and implement logistics plans to support business operations and meet customer demands.

  • Coordinate transportation activities, including shipment scheduling, route planning, and carrier selection.

  • Manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize excess inventory.

  • Collaborate with warehouse teams to ensure efficient storage, handling, and distribution of goods.

  • Transportation Management:

  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any transportation issues.

  • Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and third-party logistics providers.

  • Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and industry standards.

  • Optimize transportation routes and methods to reduce costs and improve efficiency.

  • Process Improvement:

  • Analyze logistics data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.

  • Implement process improvements to enhance logistics operations and reduce costs.

  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for logistics activities.

  • Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with procurement, production, sales, and customer service teams to align logistics activities with business goals.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth logistics operations.

  • Provide regular updates on logistics performance and issues to management.

  • Risk Management:

  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in the logistics process.

  • Develop contingency plans to address disruptions in the supply chain.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.

  • Proven experience in logistics planning, transportation management, or a related role.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Proficiency in logistics software and tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Dynamics 365 software a plus.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry standards.

Pay Details: $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year
