LHH is working with a Healthcare System based in York, PA that is looking to hire an Data Center Operations Analyst to join our team for a project through the end of 2025. The role will require 100% onsite and will be 3rd shift (11p-7:30a).

The Data Center Operations Specialist is responsible for operating and maintaining a wide array of systems across multiple data centers in accordance with established procedures. This role ensures the reliability and quality of system operations, with a strong focus on supporting patient care. The specialist monitors infrastructure and security systems, supports downtime and maintenance activities, and assists other IS personnel with data center needs.


Key Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Operate and maintain systems across multiple data centers using system commands, utilities, and technical documentation.

  • Interface with data center systems to execute scheduled processing tasks and ensure operational accuracy and efficiency.

  • Operate and maintain peripheral and auxiliary equipment (e.g., tape drives, tape libraries, UPS, CRAC units).

  • Monitor and execute daily data processing schedules and job queues for various departments.

  • Review system logs, identify errors, and perform corrective actions or escalate as needed.

  • Respond to environmental alerts (e.g., temperature, air pressure, door status) and escalate to appropriate personnel within defined timeframes.

  • Conduct network closet inspections to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Verify functionality of infrastructure and security monitoring systems across all data centers.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software processing issues using technical manuals and system knowledge.

  • Escalate critical issues to technology teams or vendors when necessary.

Support & Collaboration

  • Assist internal staff and customers by diagnosing and resolving technical issues, documenting actions taken.

  • Manage tape storage logistics, including preparation, archiving, and transport to/from on-site and off-site locations.

  • Provide first-level electronic and physical security by controlling access to data center systems.

  • Respond to information security alerts and isolate devices posing security risks.

  • Coordinate major incident responses as part of the Immediate Response Team, serving as liaison between technology teams and customers.

  • Communicate enterprise-wide issues and updates using available tools and platforms.

  • Investigate and respond to IT events from monitoring systems, resolving or escalating per documented procedures.

  • Conduct system reboots in collaboration with other teams and verify post-reboot functionality.
