We’re currently seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Payable Specialist near Ypsilanti, Michigan for hybrid positon. In this role, you’ll play a key part in the day-to-day operations of the AP function, helping ensure accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across all vendor and expense-related payments.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Process Oversight:

    Maintain and monitor the accounts payable queue, verifying invoice accuracy, confirming supporting documentation, and investigating discrepancies.

  • Invoice Management:


    Enter invoice data into the ERP system with precision and efficiency to support timely payment cycles.

  • Expense Audit:


    Review employee and contractor expense reports, ensuring alignment with company travel and reimbursement policies. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve inconsistencies.

  • Vendor Maintenance:


    Maintain up-to-date vendor information and ensure records are complete within the ERP system.

  • Month-End Support:


    Collaborate with the broader accounting team on month-end closing tasks, including routing data for accrual entries.

  • Cross-Team Communication:


    Work closely with other team members to escalate accrual-related items and clarify transactional impacts.

  • Customer Service:


    Address inquiries from internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and promptness.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience & Skills:

    • Minimum 1 year of experience in a full-cycle accounts payable role, including journal entries and expense review.

    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (not required but a plus).

    • Strong grasp of debits and credits, and the downstream effects of AP activity on sub-ledgers.

    • Prior work in a large-scale, high-volume AP environment is essential.

    • Proven understanding of accruals—especially the ability to identify what should be accrued.

    • Experience working with Oracle ERP or a comparable large-scale financial system.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables required).

  • Soft Skills:

    • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.

    • Strong communication skills to work across departments.

    • Self-starter who holds themselves accountable and is motivated to learn.



Pay Details: $24.00 to $29.00 per hour
